A Bit About Me
I was about to launch a canoe in an Upstate New York creek when I got a call from a number I didn’t recognize. An editor needed a reporter to cover Mineral County, Montana.
I was 22, barely a week out of Boston University's journalism school. Two weeks later, Subaru Outback crammed full of my stuff, I headed West. Writing has had me on a
grand journey ever since.
I’ve worked as a reporter at community newspapers in Montana, Alaska and suburban D.C.; as an editor and staff writer at a magazine devoted solely to occupational therapists; and as an editor at Alaska Beyond—the inflight magazine for Alaska Airlines based in Seattle. I also earned my MFA in Fiction from Pacific University in 2016.
